TWENTY YEARS BEHIND A CAMERA.

I’m Salih — a videographer and photographer based in North London.

I came to this through Film Studies, and I’ve never really stopped being an editor. That matters more than it sounds. Plenty of people can point a camera at something; the film actually gets made afterwards, in the cut. I shoot and edit everything myself, so nothing gets lost being passed between people.

Most weekends I’m at a wedding. During the week it’s more likely to be a brand shoot, a restaurant, a live event or a music video. I like the range — a room full of people crying at a speech and a plate of food on a table need completely different instincts, and doing both keeps you sharp.

The thing I care about most is staying out of the way. Nobody enjoys being directed at their own wedding, or performing for a camera in their own restaurant. If the day would have happened more or less the same without me there, I’ve done my job properly.

Twenty years in, I still get the same thing out of it — handing someone a film of a day they only half remember, and watching them see it properly for the first time.

Services I offer: wedding videography and photography, corporate videography, event videography, corporate interviews and talking-head videos, brand and promotional content, music videos, christenings, and Final Cut Pro training.
